Highgate is an area of North London on the north-eastern corner of Hampstead Heath.

Until late Victorian times it was a distinct village outside London, sitting astride the main road to the north. The area retains many green expanses including the eastern part of Hampstead Heath, three ancient woods,[1] Waterlow Park and the eastern-facing slopes known as Highgate bowl.

Lynne Featherstone is the Liberal Democrat MP for Hornsey and Wood Green constituency, which covers the northern half of the village of Highgate. The report of the Boundary Commission of 2003 recommended that separate from the rest of Camden Highgate of his constituency today and join in Kentish Town and Holborn to the south.

Many former students have gone through considerable Highgate School in both the Masters or even the Old Cholmeleians, the name given to old boys of the school.
