Some interesting facts about Banstead

The solution appears in the Domesday Book as Benestede. It was owned by Bishop Richard of Bayeux. Domesday assets were: 9 ½ hides, a church, a mill worth £ 1, 17 plows, forest pigs worth 20. Payment (total): € 8.

Banstead Centre is a typical high street, which extends from one end of the war memorial and course library. Every year, scouts and guides the procession along the main street, in recognition of Memorial Day and St George's Day. shops in the city are often associated with middle class, for example, Marks & Spencer Simply Food, Boots pharmacies and Waitrose. There are also several restaurants along the main street as Zizzi and Pizza Express. 12. December 2008 large Waitrose supermarket fire completely destroyed a local landmark. Although the original store has been completely refurbished Waitrose has opened a temporary store of about 200 meters along the High Street, leaving the building died in Woolworths, the retail chain. Other than the limited amount of employment in the retail sector around the high street, a small number of jobs available in the public sector in the municipal offices and NHS facilities west of downtown Banstead, and various area schools. The training is not available in the city, most students go to institutions in Sutton, Epsom and Reigate.

Most of the town is bypassed by the A217 road from two to the west. The A202 runs through the residential area, just north of downtown, but downtown, often suffers from traffic congestion.

There are several bus lines to the city, connecting to Epsom, Sutton and Croydon, all of which are still in the bus and train links.

Banstead railway station is located west of the city via the A217. It is closer than you Banstead Nork, so if you travel by public transport is often faster and easier to catch a train at Sutton, then a bus from Banstead station hall in the center as Banstead Station is a single track, the unmanned station, which sees only two trains per hour during peak hours, 1 hour in the past and there is no Sunday service. No ATM outside a permit to travel machine.

S1 bus serves Banstead (Banstead and Sutton via Mitcham), 420 buses (Redhill Sutton), and 166 buses (Epsom and Croydon).

The old village well is standing east of the city center, Woodmansterne Lane. It is almost 300 meters deep, and was last used around the late 19th Century. Wellhead coverage from the 18th century and is still recovering.
