Probate Valuation of house contents or property by RICS Valuers: As one of the leading London probate valuation companies, Jeffrey Avery and Associates can provide fully comprehensive house contents valuation for probate and property valuation for probate in Plaistow, E13, and all surrounding areas. Our house contents valuations and property valuations for probate are carried out by qualified RICS valuers, thereby eliminating the risk of investigation by HMRC. With the recent appearance of many companies carrying out valuations by unqualified staff, it is essential for executors to verify that the valuation is carried out by a RICS qualified valuer so as to avoid any risk of penalites being incurred for an inaccurate valuation. Established for over 25 years, we have become one of the most recommended firms of probate valuers in the Plaistow area.

I was advised by my solicitor that, to avoid an IHT investigation, I should contact a qualified RICS valuer, to carry out a probate valuation of all the contents of my late father's property, but had no idea where to start. I called Jeffrey Avery and Associates and they arranged for a valuer to visit the property, and within a week I received a full written probate valuation report which was subsequently accepted by HMRC without problems.

I would not hesitate to recommend this service to anyone in the same situation.

Plaistow is a chiefly residential area, including several council estates; the main road is the A112, and is alternately named Plaistow Road, High Street, Broadway, Greengate Street and Prince Regent Lane. It contains comparatively few shops and amenities, but does boast the historic Black Lion public house, said to have links to the infamous 18th century highwayman Dick Turpin. The Black Lion was as well as a regular haunt of legendary West Ham United players such as Bobby Moore in the 1960s and '70s. Essex Lodge Doctor's Surgical procedure on Greengate Street is believed to stand on the site of of King Henry VIII's hunting lodges.

Places of interest in the area include Plaistow Park, the East London Cemetery and Newham General Hospital.

Plaistow is currently undergoing extensive urban re-generation. Older council estates are slowly being replaced with new council accommodation. Plaistow's parent borough, Newham, is of the most deprived in the United Kingdom, and with an ethnically diverse population; it is hoped the staging of the Olympic Games at nearby Stratford in 2012 will bring additional prosperity to the area.

Plaistow is chiefly a residential area. Apart from lots of convenience stores, post offices, etc, the area is chiefly occupied by houses and apartments blocks (lots of them were built only in the near past). Local residents usually visit its neighbouring areas (such as Stratford, West Ham and Green Street, all within walkable distance) for large shopping centres and restaurants.

Other amenities in the area include Newham Leisure Centre and Balaam Street Leisure Centre (pronounced "Baylam"). Singers David Essex, Ronnie Lane, Sandra Kerr, Jade Ewen and Mumzy Stranger were born in Plaistow. Joe Brown was born in Lancashire but lived in Plaistow from the age of one. Record producer Norman Newell was born here.
